Love & Patience...January 18, 2019

Excepts from Kris' emails/pics

Dear loved ones,

Recently we visited a member way on top of the mountain - and that means poverty. It's already poor where we live - but going up that mountain and seeing people living under a shack or just four walls was super humbling. Trash piles up and if you touched it you'd probably get ebola or

something. But even some people who live in humble circumstances outwardly, can still be prideful and "hard of heart" by denying the most humble of all - Jesus Christ. My home in Utah is a castle compared to this.

We have been teaching Orlando. He was supposed to be baptized this week but it fell through. He is busy and not available until January 26. God is good and Orlando is full of faith. I love this work and my God so much. This is truly his church.

This week we had interviews with the mission president and cambios or transfers will be next week. (He said my Spanish was really good:)

I think that it's simple. You just keep loving. The people who broke my heart and took me for granted - I still love them. It's fine to be sad, and it's healing. All the rejection in high school really helped me prepare for my mission by being rejected day in and day out - but I still find myself loving people. I remember what Christ said, "Forgive them, for they know not what they do." If we are broken down - it is to be built back up. It's so hard but it's such a blessing.

Love,
Kris
